Root Text Editor

When perfoming tasks which do not need root or administrator privileges, use a normal text editor. Only use a root text editor to perform administrative tasks. If you do something wrong in a root text editor, you could mess up your operating system.

There are different text editors which may be installed in tiny core. If you are not faimilar with them, Leafpad is a good one.

Leafpad

To start Leafpad text editor as root, open the terminal and type:

sudo leafpad

Hidden Files

If you are using leafpad, to open hidden files, click on the square at the top left, and type the name of the file following "Location."

Xfw

To start Xfw text editor as root, open the terminal and type:

sudo xfw
